5 Fun Ways To Keep In Touch With the North Pole

Disclosure: We were invited to preview Christmas at Gaylord Palms. We only work with companies we love so thank you for helping us support them!

It’s that time of year where Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, FL turns into a Christmas Wonderland for Christmas at Gaylord Palms. Last night we had the pleasure of attending a preview of this year’s holiday events and boy was it spectacular!

From the minute you walk into the resort you will be greeted with giant candy canes, and Christmas decor with more than 2 million holiday lights and acres of magnificent decorations, plus spectacular holiday activities and events that are sure to get you in the spirit of the season and create lasting family memories!

Once inside, you will find yourself in an atrium where you can walk through and see beautiful sites such as a giant Christmas tree, a sailboat in Key West, and beautifully decorated trees inside of the atrium.  We enjoyed a one night stay at the beautiful resort and stayed in a room that looked out onto the atrium so we could view the beautiful giant Christmas Tree from our balcony.

This year, Gaylord Palms has added a jam-packed itinerary to experience Christmas at Gaylord Palms for the entire family:

Their new JOYFUL Atrium Light Show is a multisensory experience that showcases the Joy of Christmas, inviting you on a journey around the world with an exclusive holiday musical score and millions of dancing, choreographed lights. This free nightly spectacle centers around the resort’s six-story Christmas tree towering above Emerald Plaza. (FREE)

Mom Note: These professional photos are taken before you enter the exhibit and I opted to keep little Mila out since it was 9 degrees! But they do make the cutest little jackets for babies!

Their famous, ICE! exhibit has a new theme this year, ICE! featuring Christmas Around the World. Journey through more than TWO MILLION pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures and two-story-tall ice slides. It really is 9 degrees inside so make sure to have your hats and gloves and yes, they even have jackets for babies!

Cirque Dreams Unwrapped has all-new acts for 2017! Be dazzled by an array of seasonal characters brought to life in a dreamscape of imaginative costumes and creativity, while stunning feats of showmanship are performed on stage and in the air. The entire family can enjoy this uniquely inspired 25-minute Christmas dream presented with the Broadway-style and inventive theatrics for which Cirque Dreams is renowned.  (FREE or Reserved Seating since Space is Limited)

The Snow Tubing & Santa’s Snow Throw was a big hit with our kiddos during the evening! You can visit their Alpine Village and zoom down an eight-lane tubing hill that’s fun for all ages and covered in REAL SNOW! Double riding tubes are available for parents with small children. During the evening they will turn off the lights and turn up the music for Cosmic Tubing! And grab a bucket of REAL snowballs and test your aim at Santa’s Snow Throw!

One of our favorite additions this year was the North Pole Post Office where the kiddos could write their letters to Santa, stamp them, postmark them, and have them digitally transmitted to the big man in red!

Photos with Santa are also offered if the kids are ready to meet the man himself!

Mrs.Claus will be waiting during Mrs.Claus Christmas Traditions where you can gather around for warm and cozy fun in the reading of holiday classics and join along in the singing of Christmas carols during this 30-minute show.

Gingerbread Decorating Corner:  Choose from several different design options to create either a delectable holiday-themed gingerbread cookie kit or a complete gingerbread house.  After you’ve decorated to your heart’s content, make your way to meet Cinnamon and Nutmeg, our gingerbread couple, for a heartwarming hug you can capture with your own camera.

Have a big Charlie Brown fan in your house? Dine in one of their many holiday dining options and have Breakfast with Charlie Brown and Friends!

A few more NEW additions are the Build-A-Bear Scavenger hunt where you can track down all of the bears Santa has enlisted in the resort. Or take part in KISS-tory in the Making as Gaylord Palms attempts to set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for “most couples kissing under the mistletoe in one location. And last, but not least the Sounds of the Season Concert five fun and festive performances their St. Augustine atrium stage.
