Thank you to the Florida Prepaid Scholarship Program for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
As a mom, college is one thing that is so important to me. I graduated from a college in Florida and that is something that I am very proud of as a Florida resident. Even though my children are no where near the age to start attending college, it is never too early to think about college and the expenses that come with it. Recently, I have been thinking about my college experience and how that has shaped me as both a ‘mompreneur’ and a mom.
It allows me to be a role model for my children. I am not at all saying that if you don’t attend college that you can’t be a role model for your children, but graduating from college is something that I am very proud of. I worked hard for my degree and I feel that is something that my children will respect as they get older.
It will allow me to relate to my children as they get older. When my children get to the age of starting to visit and apply to colleges, I am sure things will be much different. However, I will still be able to relate to them. I will be able to share my college experiences with them and give them advice from when I applied to and attended college.
It allows me to work at home. My college education has supported me in becoming a work at home ‘mompreneur’. The skills and experience that I gained in college have given me the opportunity and ability to not only stay at home with my children, but also work from home.
Realizing just how important college is to me and how much I want to help support my children in their dreams, including attending college, is the main reason that I am a huge supporter of the Florida Prepaid Scholarship Program. The program allows families to begin saving NOW for their children’s future and has huge benefits, including allowing your children to avoid the burden of student loan debt!
