‘Tis the season for Florida Prepaid Open Enrollment! Between October 15, 2017 and February 28, 2018, you now have the ability to save for your child’s future and enroll for a Florida Prepaid Plan. Since this is the only time you can enroll for your child’s plan throughout the year, you will be able to select one of five Prepaid Plans, each with specific costs, payment schedules and benefits.
If you saw my last post here, you know why college is so important to me as a mom, and since I am an alumni from a Florida college (go bulls!), it gives me even more reason to be passionate about the Florida Prepaid Plan. The Florida Prepaid College Board encourages families to save now for a child’s college
education. Click here to learn more! I was fortunate to graduate from college without the burden of student loans. With the rising costs of college tuition, there is nothing more that I want for my children than to have them be free from debt upon graduation.
Here are a few of the reasons why college savings matters:
Florida Prepaid offers many plans including yearly and a 529 plan, but their 1-Year Florida University Plan is their most flexible plan to date and the most affordable Prepaid Plan to fit a family’s budget. This is the only Prepaid Plan offered that allows families to save for a child’s postsecondary education one year at a time, starting at less than $50 per month. This plan also allows families to share in the cost of college, with different family members each saving toward one or more of the four years.
And for some really exciting news, this is not a trick! It’s Florida Prepaid’s treat! They’re so happy you started saving for college with them, they’re going to pay off one lucky winner’s Prepaid Plan! Anyone who purchases a Florida Prepaid College Plan between Oct. 15 and Nov. 30, 2017 will be automatically entered to “win the gift of college” from FPCB, with the selected Plan purchaser’s entire Plan being paid off in full by FPCB.
