Bar Method Working out with baby-2

Instructor: “Last 20, you can push through?”
Me: “OK my legs are shaking, but I think I can finish.”
Instructor: “Great job, now last 10!”
Me: “Wait, What???”

This was my first time to a Bar Method class and I had no idea what to expect. I just had my third daughter two months ago, and I was not exactly in my best physical shape of my life. After a difficult pregnancy of morning sickness and the lack of fitness, I was extremely intimidated to start working out. I walked into Bar Method Tampa a little nervous, but my apprehensions were eased instantly as I walked though the door. The staff made me feel very welcome. I had a tour of the facility, filled out some paperwork, and my instructor Jenny even came to talk with me about what to expect in my first class. This put my fears at ease and made me feel better about being the newbie in the room.

The Bar Method was developed with a physical therapist, physiologist, and OBGYN to be safe and effective for all adults, including pregnant women. This was one of the things I loved most about the class. The instructors gave me tips and adjustments to make sure I was in proper form and getting the best, yet safest, workout possible. Let me tell you, this was a good workout. I loved how I constantly felt pushed but never uncomfortable. I knew I was building lean muscle, and that was exactly what I wanted.

Bar Method has all of the advantages of a group class while making me feel like I was working out with a personal trainer the entire time. When I was in class, they not only spoke to me by name, helping me along the way, but they did the same to every member in class. I never had such personalized attention in any group class before. Each instructor receives extensive training in all aspects of class safety and effectiveness, including prenatal modifications. The instructors in each of my classes helped me make small adjustments, taking that extra time to make sure I was doing the moves correctly. This helped me challenge myself, making sure I was comfortable with my own pace.

One of the biggest reasons I love Bar Method Tampa, though, is the new Bar Babies program. Even though I love group class settings, I very rarely go because I always have the girls with me. That is what makes this studio so great! With Bar Babies, you can bring your children to have a fun and safe time while you work out in the next room. It was great to have that hour to myself. Plus I had the peace of mind that my girls were right next door with a CPR-certified and background-checked childcare coordinator. What makes this even better? Bar babies is FREE for all members. My girls loved it and had a great time!

I left class that day tired and sore, which felt so good because I could feel my muscles changing already. My girls were happy after Bar Babies and asking when we would come back before we even left. I had such a great experience with all the staff and even made some new mom friends in class. There is no doubt that Bar Method Tampa created an environment for moms to help them feel great in their own skin. I know Bar Method is perfect for me and I will be going back often.
