Are you a native to Tampa? If not, tell us why and when you relocated here.
I was born and raised in New York. I relocated to Florida when I graduated high school to attend The University of Florida to follow my dream to become a dolphin trainer. I graduated from college and excepted a position at Discovery Cove in Orlando, where I was a Senior Animal Trainer for 10 years.
Tell us about your company and how you became a mompreneur.
I’m a Senior Team Manager with Jamberry Nails and absolutely LOVE it! The Jamberry opportunity found me when I wasn’t even looking for it. I wasn’t looking to get into direct sales or starting my own business. My friend invited me to her online Jamberry Nails Facebook party in April 2014 and I loved the concept of the nail wraps. I ordered a few sheets and was HOOKED I signed up as a consultant almost immediately. Becoming a Jamberry Consultant has literally changed my life. The amazing commission & discount are just a portion of the financial benefits. I’ve discovered my passion for leadership and helping others achieve their goals & dreams.. I’m a busy stay at home Mommy and love every minute of it, but I love that I have Jamberry which makes me happy outside of just being a wife and Mom. I feel so blessed to be a part of a incredible company & business. In the short time I’ve been with Jamberry, I not only advanced in rank to leadership, but I even earned the company’s all inclusive incentive trip to Cancun, Mexico. If you’re looking to make a little extra money to pay a few bills or even change your career, Jamberry is an JAMazing opportunity! I’d love to help you start your journey.
What is the best part about being a mompreneur?
The best part about being a Mompreneur is that I have the flexibility to work and run my business from my home and still be able to stay at home with my kiddos. Being a mother is my #1 priority and I love that I can work my schedule around my kids play dates, music classes and nap time. Jamberry has been such a blessing for me and my family. I believe that things come into your life when you least expect it. I will always be forever grateful.
What is the hardest part about being a mompreneur?
Balance and time management, but finding the happy medium between your role at home as a wife & mother and a business owner will lead you to great success in both aspects of your life.
How do you balance motherhood and running your own business?
I balance motherhood and running my business by using time management. I take advantage of the time during the day that the kids are napping or relaxing to work on my business. I create “power hours” and schedule them into my day to manage my team, online parties and event planning. I make sure that I run my business and that my business doesn’t run me.
Any tips or advice you would like to offer other mompreneurs (or aspiring mompreneurs)?
The best advice I would give other mompreneurs is that remember to unplug throughout the day from your phones, iPads and computers. Our #1 priority is our children so letting them know that you’re never too busy for them and that we aren’t always attached to our phones and social networking sites. If I’m working on my phone and my kids ask me a question, I put my phone down and look them in the eye when they speak to me. I want them to know I’m listening and I’m interested.
